Opened in 2023, the Ad Gefrin distillery crafts the finest spirits, made for sharing and toasting at life’s special moments.
Our spirits include our Tácnbora whisky blend, our English Single Malt Whisky and our Thirlings Dry Gin. Our skilled team of international distillers use traditional techniques combined with modern innovation to create unique and flavourful spirits that cater to diverse palates. The spirits that we make are a celebration of the heritage and hospitality of Northumberland during the Anglo-Saxon era, the Golden Age of the region.
Our wooden Washbacks are made of Douglas-Fir (instead of steel) and our two great copper stills were manufactured and hand-beaten by Forsyths of Rothes, Moray, the world’s leading manufacturer of distillation equipment. Each weighing three tonnes, they took over 1,200 man-hours to build.

As a new distillery at the time of adoption, Ad Gefrin were in a unique position to use Vapour from day zero, which means a full history of their entire operation is held within the platform.
